Habitat
Quite local on the upper slope of a steep, 400ft NE-facing bluff. On small sandstone cliff with a thick dolostone cap. Shaded beneath a mesic hardwood canopy of Quercus rubra, Celtis occidentalis, Betula papyrifera, and Ulmus americana. With Dodecatheon amethystinum, Parthenocissus inserta, Adiantum pedatum, Aquilegia canadensis, Galium boreale.
Description
Several dense clumps on mossy ledges, the larger ones with 10-20+ leaves.
