Hiked From the western side of the range heading east, followed the central wash north until reaching the saddle, then west towards the ridgeline. Pinyon-juniper woodland with adjacent salt brush community, ordovician limestone/dolomite with poorly sorted substrate, and one portion of quartzite.

Growing on a gravel ridge under in a Pinus/Juniperus woodland with Cercocarpus, Ephedra, Linum, Pseudaregnaria, partially under Cercocarpus.
