"South Butner Cedar Glades." On the E side of West B Street, at the north end of Falls Lake, ~3.5 km N of the intersection of West B/Gate 1 Rd and Hwy 85. A small woodlot that stretches from the road to the railway tracks, between two sets of residential areas.

Habitat
Dry "diabase glade" dominated by Juniperus, with diverse hardwoods and herbs. Abundant Rhus aromatica, Symphoricarpos occidentalis, Scleria, etc. Many NC-rare plants present. This Carex was locally abundant in wet-meadow style communities on the far side of the railway tracks (across from the glade site itself).
Description
Common as large patch along the railway, but also seen, uncommon, along wet openings in the forested area.
