Picture Creek powerline area north of Butner. A mowed powerline clearing through mixed mesic second growth forest dominated by Pinus taeda, Liquidambar styraciflua, Acer rubrum, Acer saccharum, Acer barbatum, Quercus stellata, etc. The basic or circumneutral soil is over diabase rock. SW (by foot) of where Otha Mangum Rd crosses the railway line.

Uncommon (mostly sterile plants) at edge of path/track through pine-dominated mixed forest, with Salvia lyrata, Hypericum stragulum, Scleria, Carex cf flaccosperma (CJR 2868), etc.
