Identification comments
Compared with C. cf flaccosperma (CJR 2869) these leaves are more yellow and less blue, but still glaucous. The broad leaved vegetative shoots were decidedly glaucous, and stood out easily.

Specific locality
Picture Creek powerline area north of Butner. A mowed powerline clearing through mixed mesic second growth forest dominated by Pinus taeda, Liquidambar styraciflua, Acer rubrum, Acer saccharum, Acer barbatum, Quercus stellata, etc. The basic or circumneutral soil is over diabase rock. SW (by foot) of where Otha Mangum Rd crosses the railway line.

Description
Scattered plants in middle of path/track through pine-dominated mixed forest, with Carex cf. gracilescens, Danthonia, Marshallia, Scleria, etc.
Collection notes
Collected each of Carex cf pigra, glaucodea, and flaccosperma at this site. Of them, flaccosperma was the more common?
