Specific locality
Picture Creek powerline area north of Butner. A mowed powerline clearing through mixed mesic second growth forest dominated by Pinus taeda, Liquidambar styraciflua, Acer rubrum, Acer saccharum, Acer barbatum, Quercus stellata, etc. The basic or circumneutral soil is over diabase rock. SW (by foot) of where Otha Mangum Rd crosses the railway line.

Description
Locally common as sprawling weak plants, with Carex oxylepis, Solanum carolinense, Rubus, etc. Depressions (small drainages?) in meadow community in powerline clearing. Full sun. Formed dense clumps.
