Picture Creek powerline area north of Butner. A mowed powerline clearing through mixed mesic second growth forest dominated by Pinus taeda, Liquidambar styraciflua, Acer rubrum, Acer saccharum, Acer barbatum, Quercus stellata, etc. The basic or circumneutral soil is over diabase rock. SW (by foot) of where Otha Mangum Rd crosses the railway line.

Description
Common as short plants, with Danthonia, Packera, Sisyrinchium, etc. Sparsely vegetated gentle depression. Meadow community (often wet) in powerline clearing. Full sun.
Collection notes
Collected each of Carex cf pigra, glaucodea, and flaccosperma at this site. Of them, flaccosperma was the more common?
