Mitchell Mill State Natural Area, SW side of Hwy 96 at the Little River. Area is dominated by granite flats, over which flows the river, and wet to dry neighboring woods, including taxa like Fraxinus profunda, Yucca filamentosa, Vaccinium arboreum, Itea, etc. Classic granite flats species present include Phemeranthus and Diamorpha smallii.

Description
Common/uncommon, with Polytrichum, Rhodobryum, Anthoxylum, Juniperus virginiana, Ulmus americana, etc. Thin soil over granite flats, at edges of exposed rock, with Dichanthelium sp. (CJR 2856; abundant), Sphenopholis cf obtusata (CJR 2954), etc.
