Description
Common as mostly 1-2m tall plants, flowering heavily, in open deciduous floodplain forest, with Viburnum prunifolium, Lonicera japonica, Acer barbatum saplings, Dicentra cucullaria, etc. General area is a wooded deciduous floodplain (Acer, Platanus, Celtis, Quercus, Fraxinus, etc.) in a diabase sill. Plants strongly rhizomatous.
