Habitat
Open subalpine rocky meadows, relatively recently snow-free, with Erythronium, graminoids, Claytonia lanceolata, Artemisia tridentata, etc.
Description
Very common.
Collection notes
Three Ranunculus collected in the vicinity: CJR5561 (the common one one with Claytonia in open rocky ground, narrow petals), 5562 (locally common in flat moist earth by seasonal alpine stream, with broader petals and generally squatter), and 5564 (also locally common alongside a seasonal alpine stream, but bigger, with undivided leaves).
