Specific locality
Desert Experimental Range (DER). From the paved highway, we turned onto road 2058 going north along the west side of the Halfway Hills then turned right on road 1728 going onto the alluvial fan, then went through the DER fenceline gate and parked and rambled up the draws and along the ridges. The lower part of the hills were sagebrush and bunchgrass dominated while the ridges were more gravelly with rocky outcrops and more perennial forbs and diverse shrubs.
