Desert Experimental Range (DER). Eastern portion of the historically ungrazed area west of the headquarters. Salt desert with occassional shallow washes. Open gravelly soil among Sphaeralcea, Krascheninnikovia, Gutierrezia, Artemisia spinescens, Bromus tectorum, Eriocoma hymenoides, etc.
