Description
Common, mostly sterile, scattered in deciduous floodplain forest, with Polystichum, Carpinus, Geranium maculatum, Athyrium, Liquidambar, Podostemon, Claytonia, Parthenocissus, etc. The sparse understory here was mostly herbacious species whereas across the road H.lewisii occured, and the understory was mostly sparse shrubs.
