Hiked From the western side of the range heading east, followed the central wash north until reaching the saddle, then west towards the ridgeline. Pinyon-juniper woodland with adjacent salt brush community, ordovician limestone/dolomite with poorly sorted substrate, and one portion of quartzite.

Near dry wash, gravelly soil, in a Pinus monophylla - Juniperis osteosperma forest, with Oreocarya, Artemisia, Ephedra.
