Identification comments
CJR: Can't be peckii, but don't know what it is. Culms were "heavy-headed"--erect but droopy. No indication of elongate rhizomes (was not forming extended patches).

Description
Locally common on rich bank of small trickle-creek in hardwood forest. With Polystichum, Tiarella, Poa, Ilex cf opaca, Phegopteris hexagonoptera, Viola, etc.
