Specific locality
Picture Creek powerline area north of Butner. A mowed powerline clearing through mixed mesic second growth forest dominated by Pinus taeda, Liquidambar styraciflua, Acer rubrum, Acer saccharum, Acer barbatum, Quercus stellata, etc. The basic or circumneutral soil is over diabase rock. SW (by foot) of where Otha Mangum Rd crosses the railway line.

Description
Uncommon at edge of path/track through pine-dominated mixed forest, with Salvia lyrata, Hypericum stragulum, Scleria, Bromus cf nottowayanus (CJR 2873), etc. What was likely this species was widespread through the general site.
Collection notes
Collected each of Carex cf pigra, glaucodea, and flaccosperma at this site. Of them, flaccosperma was the more common?
