Habitat
Open meadow and hill slopes in slight depressions. Not in vernal pools. Damp flat dominated by Erodium. Plants scattered throughout, often on bare ground in low places. Associated species: Eriogonum sp., Erodium sp., Artemesia sp., Rus sp., Claytonia sp., Selaginella eremophila
Description
Plants small, with immature spores and sporangia. Mature spores from the previous year could be found in the previos year's senesced leaves. Mature megaspores light to dark grey with tubberculate to verrucate ornamentation.
