Specific locality
Blacksmith Fork Canyon. Richard's Hollow Trail, off Left Hand Fork (Rt245). I hiked the trail to the Cart Trail, which brought me E to Rt047 and back down that to Rt245 and back to the trailhead.

Habitat
On rich soil adjacent to creek (deposited by spring flood?), with Circaea, Thalictrum, Taraxacum, Osmorhiza, etc. In partial shade of Pseudotsuga, Acer, and Populus. Cystopteris became common a few hundred meters further up the trail, in more typical habitats (around rocks, etc).
Description
Several robust clumps.
