Habitat
Growing in a dry, flat, open clearing near conifer woods. With Heliomeris multiflora, Polemonium, Collomia linearis, Chenopodium, Achillea millefolium, Pseudostellaria jamesiana.
Description
Locally common forb. Large, deep purple ray florets.
