Habitat
On fairly steep, exposed, dry, south-facing loose "chalky" gravelly/sandy/rocky slope. With scattered vegetation, including Carex, Rancunculus andersonii (CJR4398), Cercocarpus, Mahonia, etc. The Claytonia was most common on the slightly more sheltered area of the slope.

Collection notes
Made seven collections here (4399.1 to 4399.7), with a subsample silica-dried from each; each is a single individual. Plus there's an additional tuber-less "misc." sheet. The tubers were removed prior to pressing. The individual-plant sheets are for RSA (Tommy Stoughton) and the "misc." sheet is for DUKE.
