Description
Loose cluster of over 20 trees (stems), largest of which was a very large tree. In deciduous forest in clay soils above lip of steep slope/bluff above the Eno River, with Acer barbatum (some intergradation with Acer saccharum saccharum?), Carya cordiformis, Ailanthus, Fagus, Carya tomentosa, Ostyra, etc.
Collection notes
Collected material was from epicormic shoots ~12 feet up the tree. The canopy leaves were clearly narrower (but still relatively broad?), and far out of reach.
