Notes from Gerald Peters (June 21, 2000): "A. FIL 1 (strain previously designated F2 at VCU) - This was part of the collection at Kettering, population RE-B1-CF. and brought to VCU. Fisher had it going in the greenhouse. I thought it was the Hawaii culture from Lumpkin but that was F1 and I did not bring the F1 into culture free of epiphytes. Fisher lost all greenhouse cultures in the summer of 1997. The strain designated F2 is NOT listed in the IRRI collection. We received it at CFKRL from Tom Warne in Feb. 1983 - he shipped it to us from Rain's lab at Davis. It was collected in 1982 by Dr. R. Loeb Caldenhof, Fazenda Belmonte, Caixa Postal 8, 86600 Rolandia/ Parana Brazil. It is culture #85 in the Davis collection."
